Dr. Sam Masoud, DVM
Dr. Sam Masoud is the founder of Lakeshore Woods Animal Hospital in Oakville, ON. His passion for veterinary medicine began in high school, after getting his first dog — a German Shepherd. Drawn to the medical field, especially when it involved animals, he decided to pursue a career as a veterinarian.
He enrolled in a five-year veterinary medicine programme in 1988, followed by six months of postgraduate training across various veterinary disciplines. In 1997, he began his career working with buffalo, cows, and poultry (broilers, breeders, and layers). When he came to Canada, he shifted his focus to small animals.
Dr. Masoud obtained his licence to practise veterinary medicine in Ontario after completing the Veterinary Skills Training and Enhancement Program (VSTEP) at the University of Guelph. His areas of expertise include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and emergency care.
He has previously worked as an ER veterinarian at several hospitals across the GTA and Niagara regions, including St. Catharines Animal Hospital, which was recognized as one of the top three animal hospitals in St. Catharines over the past six years.
Dr. Masoud is committed to high-quality medicine and always prioritizes compassionate care. He is also licensed to practise in the state of New York.
He is married and has two children — his eldest son is pursuing a career in the medical field, while his daughter aspires to become a veterinarian just like her father. In his free time, Dr. Masoud enjoys fishing and watching soccer. His favourite teams are Liverpool FC and Toronto FC.

Joelle
Joelle is a proud Sheridan College graduate with a lifelong, heartfelt connection to animals. Growing up, she always knew she wanted to be around them, but it wasn’t until after high school that she found her true calling in animal anatomy and physiology. That spark led her to pursue animal education, where she quickly discovered that this was more than just a career — it was her passion. Joelle brings a big heart, deep empathy, and genuine love to everything she does, and she’s grateful every day to work in a field that lets her make a difference for the animals (and people) she cares so much about. At home she has her handsome boy Hunter, a Keeshond who stole her heart.
Daniella
From a young age, Daniella has been fascinated by animals, inspiring a lifelong passion for veterinary medicine. She is currently pursuing a degree in Animal Science at the University of Guelph and plans to continue her education by applying to the Ontario Veterinary College, with the goal of becoming a veterinarian.
Since joining the Lakeshore Woods Animal Hospital team in July 2022, Daniella has been dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to every patient she meets. She finds great fulfillment in helping animals live healthier, happier lives and is committed to making a positive difference for both pets and their families.
Elle
Elle has always had a deep love for animals, which has driven her to pursue a career in the veterinary field. She strives to provide compassionate care to patients, and ensure both pets and their owners feel comfortable and well-informed during their visits. Elle is deeply motivated by supporting animals that visit Lakeshore Woods Animal Hospital in their journeys toward health and recovery, and will always provide her best care to you and your pet! Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her six-year-old Labrador Retriever, Bentley.
Rachael
Rachael is a dedicated and hardworking team member at the clinic. She is currently attending McMaster University, working towards a future career in healthcare. Her passion for both animal and human well-being drives her commitment to providing excellent care and support. Rachael enjoys assisting at the clinic, where she continues to develop her skills and gain valuable experience. At home, she shares her love of animals with her Havanese Shih Tzu, Cookie, who is always by her side.
Anoushka
Anoushka is a dedicated Animal Biology student at the University of Guelph with a strong passion for animal health and welfare. From a young age, she has loved working with animals, and her studies have helped her build a deeper understanding of animal physiology, behaviour, and care. She is currently working toward her goal of attending veterinary school and becoming a veterinarian.
Anoushka enjoys providing compassionate care and building trust with both pets and their owners. She is proud to be part of the Lakeshore Woods team, where she strives to show her genuine love and care for animals every day. She values creating a welcoming environment for clients and their pets. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her 6-year-old Goldendoodle, Maya.
