Dr. Sam Masoud
Dr. Sam Masoud is the founder of Lakeshore Woods Animal Hospital in Oakville, ON. His passion for veterinary medicine began in high school, after getting his first dog — a German Shepherd. Drawn to the medical field, especially when it involved animals, he decided to pursue a career as a veterinarian.
He enrolled in a five-year veterinary medicine programme in 1988, followed by six months of postgraduate training across various veterinary disciplines. In 1997, he began his career working with buffalo, cows, and poultry (broilers, breeders, and layers). When he came to Canada, he shifted his focus to small animals.
Dr. Masoud obtained his licence to practise veterinary medicine in Ontario after completing the Veterinary Skills Training and Enhancement Program (VSTEP) at the University of Guelph. His areas of expertise include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and emergency care.
He has previously worked as an ER veterinarian at several hospitals across the GTA and Niagara regions, including St. Catharines Animal Hospital, which was recognized as one of the top three animal hospitals in St. Catharines over the past six years.
Dr. Masoud is committed to high-quality medicine and always prioritizes compassionate care. He is also licensed to practise in the state of New York.
He is married and has two children — his eldest son is pursuing a career in the medical field, while his daughter aspires to become a veterinarian just like her father. In his free time, Dr. Masoud enjoys fishing and watching soccer. His favourite teams are Liverpool FC and Toronto FC.

Joelle
Joelle is a proud Sheridan College graduate with a lifelong, heartfelt connection to animals. Growing up, she always knew she wanted to be around them, but it wasn’t until after high school that she found her true calling in animal anatomy and physiology. That spark led her to pursue animal education, where she quickly discovered that this was more than just a career — it was her passion. Joelle brings a big heart, deep empathy, and genuine love to everything she does, and she’s grateful every day to work in a field that lets her make a difference for the animals (and people) she cares so much about. At home she has her handsome boy Hunter, a Keeshond who stole her heart.
Daniella
From an early age, Daniella has been captivated by the wonder of animals, sparking a lifelong passion for veterinary medicine. Currently pursuing an Animal Science degree at University of Guelph, she plans to further her education by applying to the Ontario Veterinary College to fulfill her goal of becoming a veterinarian. Since joining the team at Lakeshore Woods Animal Hospital in July 2022, Daniella has dedicated herself to providing compassionate care to every patient she meets. She finds deep fulfillment in helping animals regain their health and vitality and is committed to making a positive impact in their lives each day. At home, Daniella’s love for animals extends to her own pets—her cat, Molly, her Great Dane/Husky mix, Jasper, and her two Bulldogs, Indiana and Winston—who inspire her every step of the way.
Elle
Elle has always had a deep love for animals, which has driven her to pursue a career in the veterinary field. She strives to provide compassionate care to patients, and ensure both pets and their owners feel comfortable and well-informed during their visits. Elle is deeply motivated by supporting animals that visit Lakeshore Woods in their journeys toward health and recovery, and will always provide her best care to you and your pet! Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her six-year-old Labrador Retriever, Bentley.
Rachael
Rachael is a dedicated and hardworking team member at the clinic. She is currently attending McMaster University, working towards a future career in healthcare. Her passion for both animal and human well-being drives her commitment to providing excellent care and support. Rachael enjoys assisting at the clinic, where she continues to develop her skills and gain valuable experience. At home, she shares her love of animals with her Havanese Shih Tzu, Cookie, who is always by her side.
Emily
Emily is a devoted animal lover who found her passion in supporting both pets and the people who care for them. She’s proud to be a part of the compassionate team at Lakeshore Woods Animal Hospital where she combines her love for animals with a strong commitment to their well-being. She’s also an aspiring veterinarian and currently working towards applying for the Ontario Veterinary College. When she’s not at the clinic, she’s usually leash-walking her cat Pepper, studying, or lifting weights!
Aliya
Aliya is an exceptionally dedicated and hardworking individual who discovered her passion for helping beloved pets in need through volunteering. Animals hold a special place in her heart, and she finds great satisfaction in lending a hand whenever necessary. Aliya joined Lakeshore Woods Animal Hospital in August 2023 and exemplifies commitment to animal welfare everyday. She has her own dog, Cookie, a 13-year-old Havanese mix, who has not only inspired her but also deepened her appreciation for her work. Currently pursuing a career in healthcare at McMaster University, Aliya aims to further her ability to make a positive impact on the lives of animals.
Natalie
Natalie is pursuing a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Royal Veterinary College, situated at the University of London. The Royal Veterinary College is renowned globally as the highest-ranked veterinary institution worldwide. Before veterinary school, Natalie attended Queen’s University and achieved a bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences.Natalie’s journey to veterinary school was enriched by years of experience at Lakeshore Woods Animal Hospital and her local humane society. Through these experiences, Natalie found herself committed to advocating for the health of those unable to articulate their needs. Outside of Lakeshore Woods Animal Hospital and her academics, Natalie likes to spend her time with her four-year-old beagle, Winslow.
